Breeders pt 1

"How's it feel honey?"  a man's voice, Doctor Mindo Praus to be exact, booms through the sound system of the Mobile Interface Tank Unit (MITU).
"Amazing."  his daughter Veronica Praus looking back at the MITU says with a smile.

Back in a lab thirty miles away, Dr. Praus and his wife Dr. Allysa Praus hold hands.
"Is she all right?" Allysa says
Mindo takes off the helmet that controls the mech remotely and looks at his wife "You can see for yourself on the monitors baby."
"I can't believe it"  Allysa facing the monitor array says "This suit we designed pretty much packs about 70% of the power of the MITU but it's smaller, lightweight..."
"Yes but it put an actual person in harms way."
"Yes dear but the agility alone" she pauses "This is why we spent the last four years on this planet, this is the edge we need to beat the Breeders."
"I certainly hope so...but our daughter as a test pilot?  I think we could have contacted the Union to get someone more qualified..."
"You know the deal, no outside contact.  We are invisible to the rest of the system and if the Breeders intercepted and traced our signal back..."
"I know but still..."
"Min" she says facing him "Who better to test this?  I mean if a normal person without combat training can do this well, imagine when this tech gets to the front lines."
"I still think she should have took the helmet."
"I agree, but the ion field shields her face and we can test the helmet's capabilities here, besides our little girl wanted to feel the wind in her face and if I recall, you were the one who said yes to that."

"Dad?"  Veronica says over the comm piece in her collar "I see something strange in the sky."
Mindo, quickly put the interface helmet on and the MITU looks up in the direction Veronica is pointing.
"Allysa." he says fear breaking in his voice "scan what those things are."
Allysa is quiet for a second and then "Oh my gods...Breeders."
Before she is able to react a large explosion rocks the lab.  Allysa looks over to her husband and sees a large piece of shrapnel in his chest.
At Veronica's location the MITU falls backward and plummets into the lake by the waterfall.
"Dad?  Mom?" Veronica shouts out.
"Baby run" Allysa screams "They're here....Breeders are here!"
Before Veronica can react missile bombard the area she's in covering the area in a cloud of smoke and fire.  As another hits close to her she attempts to fly as another keeps her on the ground and as she loses consciousness she whispers "Daddy."

  In a sector of space, a multi galaxy wide race of humans fly under the banner of what is only called the Union are under attack from a race called the Breeders.  The Breeders were originally a race created to serve the people of the Union unable to breed (not even having the equipment to) until on one settler's  planet at the very fringe of the Union's reach, fell prey to a mysterious plague that proved fatal to women 20% of the time and men 100% of the time.  The planet was placed under quarantine and it's inhabitants left to die.  Yet the women took matters into their own hand. The slave race was not effected by the plague and since it only consisted of males, they found a way to make a race that could breed to repopulate their planet.  
Two hundred years later, the Union found a cure but when they came to the planet a new race had now inhabited it, a race of only males.   This race could breed with anything female and they had a hate for the Union that abandoned it's fore-mothers to death.  The Breeders had waited years for a transport ship off planet and once the medical aid ship's arrived they had their way off world to spread their brand of justice and to do what they were created to do; procreate.

One hundred years into the war, the Union was floundering from the Breeder attacks and from within.  Two brilliant scientist from different planets had theories about an attack suit that could even the playing field.  The two worked together for years, eventually married and had twins a boy and a girl.  Yet fearing for their safety the Union moved them to an undisclosed planet to continue their work in hopes they would complete this suit. Their son, a prodigy in his own right, decided to stay with grandparents and the Doctors along with their daughter left, hoping to reunite their family in a few short years.  
A month ago, unknown to the scientist and their 19 year old daughter Veronica, the Union fell, the Breeders were victorious and now seek to enslave any and all human life under their iron rule.
