"Nice place you got here Jessie." 

Without even turning around Jessica knows the voice, one she has tried her best not to hear in the last 21 years.

"What the fuck are you doing in my house dad?"

"I need to talk to you."

"Well if you haven't guessed it by now I don't want to talk to you."

"Jess..."

"Don't Jess me, asshole.  You know I could arrest your sorry ass for breaking and entering...."

"Roz let me in."

Jessica sighed, her mother-in-law moved in shortly after the death of her husband to help her raise her children but now with the children gone, Jessica had been deciding if it was time to get the old woman her own place.  She loved her as if she were her own mother but Rosalyn liked to give her opinion and once the children went off to college, her opinions grew as well as her distaste for Jessica's life style choices.

"Listen to him Jessica."  Rosalyn said coming from the kitchen "It's about the children...."

"This asshole is not allowed in my fucking house, and as far as MY KIDS, they've done quite well without their sick ass grandfather in their lives."

"Jessica" Rosalyn jumped in before she continued her rant "I don't know the problem between the two of you but the fact that he is here now...it has to be important."

"It is."  Jason Amber replies

Jessica looked up and took a long sigh, "What?"

"It's the case your on...the one with the missing kids..."

"What about it?"

"You need to drop it...I know your friend needs your help but it's important you don't get involved...."

"First off Dad, this is my life and my job what I do with it..."

"Could you shut the fuck up for a moment.  This shit is important!"  He yells and she closes her mouth and sits down although looking very annoyed.

"Go on."

"What do you know about Project Tomorrow?"

"You mean the alleged superhumans used during the Viet Nam war to win it?"

"It's true and the kids that are being taken are the grandchildren of these men and women."

"Ok...well we know they all lost their abilities so what's this got to do with my case and my kids?"

"Because they may be targets..."

Jessica stares blankly for a second "You mean...."

Jason  looks at both women sternly "I need to tell you the truth...about everything."
