Red Brigade Chapter 2 pt 1

Ryan didn't like it, not at all, but what choice did she have? Really? The decision was made, she was to bring in Kiko, dead or alive and if she did she would be rewarded by living past her 19th Birthday.

When she was showed the true reasons behind the Brigade and what happened to female agents at 19, it frightned her but the records did show of one such agent who was offered a similar deal and was actually still on active duty.

She had done more than a few missions with Kiko and the two were as close to being friends as any agent had, but now...

Kiko went rogue, and they had implanted a chip in Ryan that would cause her serious pain before killing her if she decided to make a run for it like Kiko, or if she just decided not to try at all.

The girls had locator circiutry which on missions enabled them to find each other within a ten mile radius. The tracking device was made that way just in case the tech fell into enemy hands. Knowing where the enemy was may give them a heads up, but knowing that enemy could be anywhere in a ten mile radius, with tech that kept bouncing the signal so it couldn't be triangulated gave the agent a lot of clear space to do their job.

Ryan knew she was close and had been for the past few days, but it was a big city, so rather than keep driving around on her bike, she decided to stop and stay in one place each day. Hoping that Kiko would instead come to her.

Every two days a handler would come by to get a situation report and cop a feel. Ryan was used to that and a whole lot more. It's what kept her in very cozy missions the last two years, very far away from Kiko and the dangerous jobs they sent her on.

In fact the last time she saw Kiko was after one mission where Kiko had to jump off a twenty story building. Kiko was too busy returning fire to the targets on the roof (which she did get) that she turned around on her plummett a little too late and had smashed her face on the pavement below.

Such an extreme injury would take two days to heal and when Ryan visited Kiko, she was in bandages. Kiko was told that her face healed improperly and once the bandages were removed she would look differently. Ryan told Kiko of how she had avoided the dangerous missions and urged Kiko to do the same.

The word exchange after that did not go nicely and Ryan left the room vowing never to speak to Kiko again.

Now it was her job to kill her. The Brigade believed that with Kiko's sense of morality that she may hesitate before shooting Ryan, giving Ryan the advantage to take her down.

Now all Ryan had to do was wait.
